Agios Ioannis Theologos Church

Located in the neighborhood of PlateTo the north of the Acropolis, this church dates from the XNUMXth century, and the data is practically certain thanks to the typical architectural style of that period.

Consequently, it is part of the medieval monuments of Athens and it has been kept in good condition throughout the centuries without any modification. On the façade you can see the contrast between the white sculpted stones and the bricks Red that surround them. This particularity is characteristic of the Byzantine monuments of this century.

They can also be contemplated pintures murals that decorate the church. In addition, the curiosity about these murals stands out, since few Byzantine paintings from that time have been preserved in the churches.
