The flag of Canada

It is known to flag official Canada as The Maple Leaf, or the flag of Maple Leaf or like l'Unifolié which in French means the flag with a single leaf.

The official flag of Canada is a red blazon with a white rectangle in the middle. Inside this is an 11 pointed red maple leaf.

The maple leaf is the leaf of the tree which has the same name and is the emblematic tree of the country. For the inhabitants Canada represents the strength of its people to remain standing despite the historical, climatic and economic details they have had to face at the beginning of their history.

Different flags have been created for official use, government bodies, Canadian military forces, all with the maple leaf somewhere on the insignia.

King George V proclaimed in 1921 that the official colors of Canada would be the red, belonging to the cross of St. George, and the white tint, of the French royal emblem used since the reign of Charles VII.
