Out to sea, the islands of Gorgona and Gorgonilla they constitute sanctuaries of fauna and flora protected by the State. Humpback whales arrive there in August from the south. Far away, more than three hundred kilometers from the coast, is the islet of Malpelo, a rock that emerges from the ocean surrounded by an amazing underwater life.
