Llorente's Vase House

200 years of the Independence of our country is an event, and what better way than to experience it in the place where the famous events of "Llorente vase".
That's right, the 20 de Julio Museum, also called Llorente's Vase HouseIt keeps about two thousand objects related to independence donated by the Academy of History and by some individuals.

It is located in the Northwest corner of the Bolivar Square in Bogotá, in Carrera 7ª with Calle 11. For the history of Colombia, the house of the vase in Llorente is a very important place because one of its most outstanding events took place, known as the Cry of Independence.

The base of Llorente's vase and some objects related to the independence of Colombia are on display in the main room. The oldest works that can be found are those that relate to the Botanical Expedition.

In the minutes room you can find the act of the independence of Colombia, the table in which the independence was signed, the score of the National Anthem of Colombia written by Rafael Núñez (letter Y Oreste Sindici (music) and a collection of national political constitutions during its history.

In the other rooms you can see military garments of national heroes, oil paintings of different personalities, as well as various objects and furniture from the colonial and republican life of the country.
