Dominican Republic is located in the Antilles archipelago, in the eastern part of the island "La Hispaniola". The country has truly become a perfect paradise to be able to vacation as a couple, as a family or alone, in an adventure that you will never forget.

The island of Hispaniola is occupied by the countries of Haiti and the Dominican Republic, in which, more than two thirds belongs to the Dominican territory. Its geographical location includes the Atlantic Ocean to the North, the Caribbean Sea to the South (which is part of the Tropic of Cancer), the Mona Canal to the East and the Republic of Haiti to the West.

Its territorial extension including the islands under its jurisdiction (Beata, Catalina, Saona and Alto Velo) is 48.442 square kilometers, allows it to be the second largest country in extension of the Greater Antilles, behind Cuba. Its extension from north to south is 286 kilometers and from east to west it has an extension of 390 kilometers.

The relief of its geography is very rugged, it has five mountain ranges and three large mountain ranges, the main one is the Central Mountain Range, where the highest peak in the Antilles is located, the well-known Pico Duarte which has an elevation of 3,187 meters. The Dominican surface also has four extensive valleys, one of them is the Cibao Valley.

The hydrography of the Dominican Republic is made up of rivers, lakes and lagoons which, in some cases, have become centers of tourist interest such as the Ozama River and Enriquillo Lake. It also has an infinity of beautiful beaches that as a whole are 1,500 kilometers long. The main beaches are located in the north, south, east and northeast.

As for the weather, Due to its geographical position, the Dominican Republic has a tropical climate due to the influence of the trade winds and the orography.. The annual average temperature is 25º C (77º F), however, in the mountainous areas, the temperature oscillates between 5º C in the winter months.
