1. The islands of Alonissos, preserves a great variety of marine life. It is popular with German and English tourists and some of them have even bought old houses on the island to spend their holidays.
2. The Island of Amorgos, with its village with old mills and white buildings among which the Byzantine monastery of Moni Panagia Chozoviotissa stands out. The beaches are rocky in general and their tourist capacity is very limited.
3. Dounoussa and Schinoussa, are small Cycladic islands located near Naxos, destinations for yachts. Only rooms are rented in houses, there are no real hotels and there are no banks.
4. Euboea, it is close to Athens and is an island with more Greeks than foreign tourists. There are many spas since there are many sources of mineral water and its archaeological sites are almost always uncrowded so you can enjoy them much better.
5. gortyn, on the island of Crete or south of Heraklion, is a city with ruins of old temples, an ancient Byzantine church with a black Madonna and extensive olive groves.
6. Karpathos, It is a Dodecanese island with small towns, rich folklore and friendly people.
7. Kerameikos Cemetery, near the Aceopolis, is an old cemetery with hundreds of beautiful monuments (copies of the originals). Very melancholic at sunset.
8. Peanut, in the Peloponnese. Prairies and land of fights and island pride.
9. symi, an island that has a nice summer festival and lots of boat traffic. It is reached by ferry from Piraeus or from Rhodes as well.
10. Thessaloniki, it is the second largest Greek city. It is a university city with a lot of energy, clean streets and a lot of entertainment. It is a good starting point for exploring Mount Olympus and the ruins of Dion.
