This colony soon became a very rich center, with a very fluid trade, the Greeks brought ceramics, wines, oils, exchanging them for salt, esparto and linen fabrics.

By the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries BC, the colony had grown a lot and had to be walled. Within the walls a sacred area was found, in Ampurias.
