Mirtiotissa, hidden and nudist beach in Corfu

Mirtiotissa Beach

One of the corners of the island of Corfu that you can visit is mirtiotissa. It is a beach that is located just 12 kilometers from the center of the capital, the same city of Corfu. You arrive easily, by bus or if you have rented a scooter, you also arrive very fast.

It is a simple corner, alien to mass tourism, where there is hardly a beautiful beach that in summer has an open bar, trails, wild nature and an old monastery, the Monastery of the Holy Virgin of Mirtiotissa. The beach is downhill so you can only get to the edge of the sea by walking. Any vehicle must be left on the side of the route and that is why sometimes it is better to go by bus. Afterwards, to walk it has been said because it is not a hundred meters but two and a half kilometers from the road that goes to Glyfada.

Due to all this you have to bring your own food and drink and if possible an umbrella to avoid direct sun. Although there is some vegetation if you want to be close to the sea, the sun has its sights on you without any obstacles. Another fact, it is usually a beach where you can practice nudism.

Practical information:

  • The monastery is open from 8 am to 1 pm and from 5 to 8 pm.
