Killary, the only fjord in Ireland

Ireland is not a land of fjords. Nobody thinks of Ireland when talking about fjords ... and yet in Ireland there is a fjord. Only one, the killary, and the best way to enjoy it is by taking one of the Killary Cruises that run through the port. The walk is great and the landscapes much more impressive than if you contemplate them from the car window, on the coastal road. It doesn't matter if the weather is good or bad, the ride is guaranteed.

The best thing about this cruise is that you do it on a very modern catamran, that the views are great and that, depending on the time of year you do it, you can run into some dolphins. There is only one negative aspect and that is that the catering service is not very good when there are many people on the boat. But well, it's about observing and not eating, isn't it? Trips are roundtrip and range from Killary Harbor, the fjord, to the Atlantic Ocean. They pass by the edge of the mountains, steep drops over the water, through small coastal villages that are impossible to reach by land and through salmon farms.

The walk ends in the waters of the Atlantic and from time to time you see an island and a dolphin.
