Known by its English name, the spire, officially called the Monument of Light and it is a huge stainless steel monument with the shape of a needle that reaches 120 meters in height and is located in the place where the Nelson Pillar used to be, on O'Connell Street in the Irish capital.

The first part of this monument was put in place in December 2002 and the following year an additional 20 meters were added. In the lower part it measures about 3 meters in diameter and in the upper part it narrows to 15 cm. It is, of course, the tallest sculpture in the world and it is made with stainless steel tubes and changes its color according to how the sun shines on it.

During the day it remains metal in color but changes its colors when it is time for sunset. Its construction wanted to revitalize the area after it declined with an IRA attack in the 60s.
