Geographical limits, neighbors and Norwegian conformation

The Norwegian territory has an area of ​​386.958 km2, belonging to the Scandinavian peninsula extending along a mountain range that covers two thirds of the country.
It shares a border with three countries, the longest border borders Sweden; to the northwest it borders Finland and, for a few kilometers, Russia.

As for the other cardinal points, the Country is surrounded by water: The Barents Sea to the north, the Atlantic Ocean and the Norwegian Sea to the west. It is there where these geological wonders that are the fjords were formed. Further north, off the rugged coastline a cluster of islands of great beauty unfolds: the Vesteralen and the Lofoten Islands. And to the south, the North Sea comes to kiss picturesque villages fringed by beaches.

Far beyond the North Cape, the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard stretches to 81 ° latitude, just 900 kilometers from the North Pole. Its main island, Spitsbergen, is the northernmost point in the world visited by tourists regularly.
