Winter in Central Norway normally lasts from November to April. Inland regions of this part of the country, such as Oppdal, Røros and Dovrefjell, experience a frosty and heavily snowy winter.
Winter is milder in coastal areas thanks to the Gulf Stream. However, gales, rain, and clouds are often present on the coast during the winter months.
