The country has a great variety of fish and the abundance of good fishing waters have resulted in an increasing number of fishermen visiting Sweden. The thrill of being able to catch fish in the wild, and on their terms, is the fulfillment of a dream for many visiting fishermen in Sweden - and these fish can be king-size!

Sweden offers the angler a wide variety of fishing spots. For example, bait fish for roaches and gilthead sea bream in one of the country's countless lakes, fly fishing and spin for salmon, trout and grayling in any number of many rivers.

You can also turn for pike and perch in the Baltic archipelagos, or jig for char in the water of the Lapland mountains to the north. Sweden offers the perfect setting for exciting year-round fishing. Spanning some 2.000 kilometers from north to south, the country has very different climates.

Fishing for sea trout will begin in January and peaks in April when pike fishing can also be excellent.
