The most beautiful sunsets in the world

Venezuela

I've always thought that the simple act of watching the sunset is underrated, and not precisely because of all those myths that revolve around men that you can self-heal by watching the sunset for three minutes every day, no, it is something much simpler. The peace that contemplating a sunset transmits to us cannot be explained in words, it is something spiritual, almost dreamlike, and I have the feeling that only in our travels do we dedicate the time it deserves.

In order to turn sunset views into a hobby to include in our routine, it is best to contemplate these most beautiful sunsets in the world that, for sure, will encourage you to go out to the balcony of your house at the end of the reading.

Bagan (Burma)

Little by little retaliated from the blindfold that its dictatorship has entailed in recent decades, the country Burma (or Myanmar) begins to open up to the world. An Asian country that offers as attractions the golden stupas of Rangoon or the balloon rides over the city of Bagan, an ancient imperial city and the quintessential monumental spectacle of Asia which, both its sunrise and sunset, make it an even more mysterious place if possible, as if it were a city still trapped in old travel notebooks. Also, Bagan is famous for being one of the best places in the world to see in a balloon, this being a good opportunity to get lost in its skies and history.

Fort Kochi (India)

If there is an ideal country for sunsets, it is India. From the splendor of the city of Varanasi to the typical photograph of the Orange Taj Mahal from the Yamuna River, the country of curry brings a greater mysticism if possible to its sunsets. In my case, I keep that of Fort Kochi, a town in the state of Kerala, South India, famous for its Chinese nets in which to perch at sunset to watch the sailors fishing while the Malabar Sea turns bright.

Maasai Mara (Kenya)

maasai mara maasai

One of the most famous sunsets in the world it looms in the savannahs of the Masai Mara reserve in Kenya, famous for its status as a mecca for safari and adventure tourism. After a day photographing elephants, sharing dances with the Maasai or exploring inhospitable corners, the African sunset, only interrupted by the outstanding necks of giraffes, becomes one of the greatest treasures of the African continent and the best time machine to childhood, those afternoons watching Disney's The Lion King.

Santorini (Greece)

Considered by many as the most beautiful sunset in the worldThe one in the town of Oia, on the Greek island of Santorini, is a delight for the senses. The white terraces overlooking the immense volcanic Caldera in which many locate the presence of ancient Atlantis are tinged with warm colors while an eternal Mediterranean succumbs to the departure of Helios, of the Mediterranean summer we all dream of.

Grand Canyon (United States)

While an eagle soars over the skies, orange colors and silence take over the Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. A nomadic environment ideal to contemplate the ends of the sky while, in the distance, the rumor of old Indian legends await the starry night and the colors of its caves are transformed. Ideal to visit and stay in one of the lodges from the famous South Rim as we pass through the giant Yankee.

Atacama Salt Flat (Chile)

Considered the driest place in the world, Atacama desertIt is a paradise for those who contemplate the sky, the UFOs that many claim to have seen some nights, the solitude, the wild beaches and yes, the sunsets too. The Atacama salt flat becomes the perfect place to confuse the pink of its flamingos with the oranges of what is one of the most exciting sunsets on the Pacific coast of South America.

Oahu (Hawaii)

According to Maori mythology, the reddish and orange hair of the goddess Hine-nui-te-pó, condemned to roam the underworlds of such an exotic culture, form the sunsets of the Pacific islands. Today, the mysticism of all these gods floats over any point of the Pacific Ocean from which we prepare to glimpse the sunset, being that of the island of Oahu, the largest and most lush in Hawaii, one of the most photographed in the world.

Perth (Australia)

The largest city in Western Australia It becomes the last viewpoint on this route, confirming its condition as the perfect enclave at the end of the world to contemplate a wandering sunset before starting a new cycle from the East. But it is not the only one, since if there is a place from which to surrender to the dreamy skies that is the continent of kangaroos, with places like Ayers Rock or the city of Sydney itself converted into recommendable viewpoints.

These most beautiful sunsets in the world They reconcile us with the beauty of our planet, they encourage us to dream and, incidentally, to value those little things that are part of our routine even though we don't always fall for it.
