Vienna, the best city for breakfast

have breakfast in vienna

One of the best times of the day for me is breakfast. Much more when I am traveling and I can go to have breakfast outside, sit in a cafe, watch the people go by, enjoy the sun if there is it or melancholy in the rain if it is the case.

And the truth is that Vienna is a city to go out for breakfast. The Viennese cafes they are a classic and the best place to start the day. We can have a light breakfast, but when we read the menu the truth is that these breakfasts are anything but light: Viennese sausages, coffee with milk, goulash, sweet cakes and much more.

There are many places to go for breakfast that we can recommend. Take note:

  • Haas & Haas: it has a menu with more than 30 different breakfasts (including a Chinese breakfast). You find him behind Stephansdom.
  • Joma: cereals, porridge, variety of coffee and tea.
  • Café Francais: French toast, baghettes, sweets with mousse and whipped cream.
  • Meierei im Stadpark: a Viennese breakfast that is almost lunch. Goulash, goose liver and vegetables.
  • Mainl am Graben: steaks, champagne, oysters.
  • Hansen: it works in the building of the old Stock Exchange and there is a great variety of possible breakfasts. Truffles, salmon, eggs.
  • Point of Sale: it is in the Naschmarkt neighborhood and there are breakfasts from all over the world that are served until 15 pm. Cool.
  • Leopold Coffee
  • Dreshler Cafe
