Lower Egypt

It is so named with respect to its location with the Nile. Lower Egypt was called in Ancient Egypt to the northern part of the country, and covers from the Mediterranean Sea to Dahshur, next to Memphis, 40 km south of Cairo. It has two of the most famous canals in the world, one to the west that ends next to Rashid and the other to the east in Damieta. Lower Egypt was divided into twenty districts called nomos, whose organization underwent changes throughout history. The best known towns in Lower Egypt are Alexandria, Cairo, Giza, Suez, Port Said and Damietta. It is a beautiful place to meet and travel with the family, in addition to incredible landscapes you can visit temples, museums and thus learn a little more about the great history of this fascinating country.
