La Molokheya accompanied by some kind of meat conform the 2nd official preparation of Egypt behind the already known to us Ful Medammes. It is a delicious dish that combines strong flavors with pleasant aromas.
Like most of the egyptian recipes, the dish in question is easy to prepare, inexpensive and high in calories, making it ideal to entertain a good group of guests without spending a lot of money or investing too much time in the matter.
Ingredients:
- 1 pollo
- 1 package of molokheya (aromatic plant).
- 1 and 1/2 tablespoon garlic, smashed.
- 1 1/2 tablespoon ground coriander
- 3 tablespoons margarine or butter
- Sal Island
Crafting:
- Wash the chicken and then boil until tender.
- Strain and reserve 3-4 cups of chicken broth.
- Cut the chicken into 4 pieces.
- In a pan add 2 tablespoons of margarine or butter.
- Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown.
- In a deep frying pan, heat the reserved broth and bring to a boil over the highest heat.
- Add 1 teaspoon of coriander and 1/2 tablespoon of garlic.
- Reduce heat and add molokheya and boil once, uncovered.
- While molokhia is boiling, in a small skillet heat 1 tablespoon of margarine or butter then add 1 teaspoon of coriander, 1 tablespoon of garlic and stir until golden brown.
- Immediately pour these components from the pan into the pan of the molokheya in bread. Do not shake.
- Stir molokhia just before serving.
- Serve on a plate with chicken and rice on the side.
