There is a famous route where to sail in the Nile. It is from El Cairo a luxor which has reopened to cruise ships after a 3-month ban amid concerns about water levels.

Until recently it was only possible to cruise the Upper Nile, between Luxor and Aswan, but now travelers can embark on an extended adventure.

With this cruise on the Nile River you enjoy a 14-night trip from Egypt aboard the Alexander the Great which takes passengers from Cairo to Luxor via Aswan (and vice versa), with excursions to some of the best places in the country.

Before boarding the luxury ship, guests have time to explore Cairo, visiting ancient Egyptian landmarks, the Great Pyramid, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the Sphinx. A trip to the Egyptian Museum offers guests the opportunity to read about the fascinating history of the capital.

The ship then sets sail up the Nile, stopping at the white limestone temple at Abydos, built by Seti I, and completed by his son, Ramses II, the tombs of Beni Hasan, dating from 2000 years BC, and Dendera Temple, a site for chapels and shrines.

In the West Bank, passengers can get off to see the Valley of the Kings where are the tombs and chambers built by great pharaohs of Egypt, the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, dedicated to the sun god Ra, and the Colossi of Memnon, where Two twin statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III standing.

An optional day trip (by bus or air) takes visitors to the UNESCO world heritage site Abu Simbel, and the Great Temple of Ramses II, where, in Death on the Nile, Jacqueline (played by Mia Farrow) Image becomes spoiling the newlyweds Linnet and Simon's departure.

Passengers who choose to stay aboard the Alexander the Great can enjoy the sights and sounds from the pool deck, or indulge in a spa treatment.

Finally, in Aswan, visit its High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk (the largest known), before returning to Luxor.
