La Cairo University It is located in Giza, considered the best study center in the country that has been successfully carrying out its mission of handing over educational, research and cultural rights in recent years. It is considered as the mother university among other younger universities in Egypt.
Cairo University is also offering its educational and research services to Arab and foreign students and scientists, and has become well known throughout the world.
It should be noted that it has 100 scientific research centers and private units. There is also a hospital for students, a printing press, a central library and the faculty libraries.
Currently, Cairo University includes 23 Faculties and Institutes covering about 155.000 students with 3.158 professors, 2.361 professors and assistant protesters and 12.233 employees
It was founded on December 21, 1908, as a result of an effort to establish a national center for educational thought. Several constituent universities preceded the creation of the university including the College of Engineering in 1816, which was closed by the Khedive of Egypt and Sudan, Said Pasha, in 1854.
The truth is that the University of Cairo was founded as a civil university of European inspiration, in contrast to the religious university of al-Azhar, and it became the first indigenous model for other state universities.
