The legend of Quistococha

The story goes that a native of the area in his eagerness to night-fish managed to catch a beautiful pomfret that after being placed in his canoe, allowed him to witness a magnificent miracle, something marvelous in the eyes of anyone, in the center of his boat. The image of a person dressed in a white robe emerged, an incredible image, but after staring at it he was amazed to know that it was Christ.

At that time, the singing of millions of birds in that area became a beautiful melody giving a musical framework to the miraculous appearance of Christ awakening the aborigines of the native community, and everyone managed to observe the appearance of our Savior. From that event originates the name of cristococha, "Christ of the Water"; today called quistococha, located 11 km from the center of the city of Iquitos and is one of the places where tourists enjoy a walk through the jungle, thanks to the fact that it has a small zoo with animals that are more representative of the Amazonian fauna.

beautiful place that I was lucky enough to visit recently. We enjoyed the lagoon and delicious food,
A call to the corresponding authorities to take more care of the infrastructure by providing adequate budgets for such a fabulous zoo.
