The Lucerna Palace one of the most entertaining palaces in the city

The tour of the palaces of Prague It is varied, many of these monuments are currently the headquarters of institutional bodies or art galleries, but the most entertaining to visit is the Lucerna Palace.

El Lucerna Palace It is located in the 1st district of Prague at Štěpánská 61, 116 02 surrounding St. Wenceslas Square.

We will start by saying that many of the buildings that surround this square are connected by passages and one of them is the passage that connects the streets Vodickova y Štěpánska where residences, shops, restaurants, a cinema, a music bar and a concert hall are located.

All these premises form the Lucerna Palace which was one of the first multipurpose complexes in the city and is currently one of the most used for cultural events.

During the years 1907 and 1921 it was renovated, inspired by the art of various countries in the world, which is why the palace was called by the people "the bazaar". So polychromatic were their styles that the first restaurant to open was a Japanese tea room.

It was also the site of the first modern cinema of Bohemia, which was inaugurated in 1909 and was where the first film with sound was screened in 1929. Today it continues to function and to access it you have to use an impressive marble staircase.

You can also visit the salon Grand palace which is used for social events and behind it has a rococo-style room that in 1915 was a tavern and is currently a beautiful theater.

The decoration of the palace is still a reason to visit, one of the most striking sculptures is the one that hangs from one of the domes of the gallery. It is a horse turned upside down that has mounted on its stomach to Saint Wenceslas.

It will be a complete and interesting visit to do with the whole family.
