The Exotic Animal Zoo in Liberec

Yes alright in Prague we have hundreds of places to meet and have fun, it is also interesting to get away from the Czech capital a bit to get to know other equally interesting cities.

Especially if we go as a family, the best places we can visit are the zoos, that the little ones fascinate with their animals from the most exotic to the most common and the largest due to the activities and knowledge experiences they offer.

In Prague and in Pilsen we have two important zoological parks, but a little further in the city of Liberec there is also a wonderful zoo that we cannot miss.

There are 13 hectares of natural parks nestled in a valley near the center of the city, the forests, the rocky areas of the slopes and the streams will amaze you. It is also an ideal outing for the whole day because within the park there are excellent sanitary and gastronomic facilities.

El Liberec Zoo specializes in rare and endangered animal species, has dedicated himself to the preservation and study creating a genetic bank of animals such as the Somali wild asses or Dagestan lion macaques, among other species. It also participates in rhino breeding programs and is a member of the main international species care organizations.

Currently it has more than 520 mammals of 63 different species, more than 240 birds of 66 species, more than 15 reptiles of 9 species and more than 20 fish of 5 different species.

Among the most important animals that are housed in this zoo we will find: áeagles, macaques, chimpanzees, orangutans, snow leopards, wild asses, white rhinos, musks, baringoes, and Indian white tigers, to name some of the cutest and most interesting.

To complete the visit, it is best to walk through the breeding habitat of birds of prey and the penguin pavilion, that of the giraffes.
