Fishing in Russia

Russia and fishing involves large forested areas with fish for tourists who are attracted to this activity. The best fishing regions are sparsely inhabited, even by fishermen, but dense with wildlife. The region of choice depends on what type of visitors prefer fishing.

In the extreme northwest, is the peninsula of Kola and its famous Rio Ponoi, which is a known destination for Atlantic salmon fishing from above. It has 42 miles (67km) of the Pescable River and large fields and cottages along the way.

Likewise, the peninsula of Kamchatka it stretches across Russia into the Pacific. There are flights from Anchorage, Alaska that have opened up these streams to more business visitors, but you can still be sure your paths don't cross each other.

And further afield, in the Pacific, is the island of Sakhalin, which stretches from the mainland 589 miles (950 km) to Japan is an excellent area for fishing. It should be noted that the island is accessible from Korea.
