CountryLink offers two services per day from Sydney to Melbourne, one travels by day and the other travels at night and carries sleeper cars. The XPT service connects Sydney with Brisbane although it is necessary to make a connection by bus. These trains have first-class and economy-class carriages, but there are really no big differences between the two. XPT's Sydney-Melbourne service departs at 7:42 am and 8:40 pm and vice versa departs at 8:30 am and 7:55 pm.
