The study has taken into account the 643 largest towns in Spain, over 10.000 inhabitants, and has been carried out with data from 2001, since, according to the researchers in the study, they are the most recent available.

76,3% of the state population lives in the localities of the sample studied. The research evaluates aspects such as consumption, social services, housing, transport, the environment, the labor market, health, culture and leisure, education and security.
