Like the chinese cinema? Do you like Chinese movies? I do, although martial arts are not so much to my liking. Sure I prefer a drama or a policeman but in truth what comes to us from Chinese cinema has a lot to do with martial arts cinema, be it Hong Kong cinema or mainland Chinese cinema.
I am talking about Chinese cinema since it helps me to present this Chinese film called Journey to the West: Conquering Demons. It is a comedy-action film directed by Stephen Chow and Derek Kok. It was released last February in China and is based on a Chinese classic called Journey to the West. It's a mix of Cinderella and The Odyssey. The first of the directors is known as the King of Comedy in Chinese cinema and is considered the creator of a particular type of film calledor Mo lei tau, without sense.
Chow is a director and an actor at the same time and in this case the film tells the story of a monk who falls in love with an exorcist and has three demons, a fish, a pig and a monkey, who become his disciples. It did very well at the box office so if you want to see more chinese cinema Try Journey to the West, Conquering Demons.
