The best traditional markets in China

It is impossible to visit China and don't go shopping. In its cities you can find all kinds of articles, jewelry, objects made of paper and popular handicrafts at a very good price. Among the most popular markets we have:

Panjiayuan Jiuhuo Shichang (Beijing): It is a large open-air market that opens every weekend where you can see the best selection of Chinese things: from Ming furniture reproductions, traditional used clothes, souvenirs and antiques that are fake, although experts have made some discoveries surprising in the chaos.

Kashgar Bazaar (Xinjiang) : Kashgar is a city in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region where there is a large market that is now divided in two and it is not exactly what it was in Beijing before, but it is worth visiting, especially the livestock and jewelry section.

South Bund Cloth Market (Shanghai): Large bundles of cloth (silk, cotton, linen, wool and cashmere) are sold here at extremely low prices. Many stalls have their own tailors who can sew a suit you, or anything else you want, at rates that are less than half what you would pay in the retail market.

Yide Road Market (Guangzhou): With so many markets to choose from in a city whose raison d'être is commerce, it's hard to know which one to choose first. This is one of the most colorful.

Temple Street Night Market (Hong Kong): The prices here are outrageous compared to other markets in China, but the scene at this night market is very entertaining, especially fortune tellers, street performers who sing Chinese opera, and the crowds overflowing with pai dai. dong (street food stalls).
