Children's Day in Cuba

Convinced that neither the world crisis nor imperial blockades will ever erase the smile from the faces of their children, Cuba celebrates the Children's Day every June 01, making it an unforgettable day for them, full of joy and tenderness.

In the first place, proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1954, it was the day chosen by all countries so Children's Day was created to encourage all countries to institute a day, in the first place to promote mutual exchange. and understanding among children, and secondly to initiate activities for and promote the well-being of the world's children.

"Cuba is a children's paradise, and the world must focus more on this country, from which it has much to learn," said Juan Ortiz Brú, UNICEF representative in Cuba.

The truth is that last February, during the presentation of the report on the The State of the World's Children 2012Ortiz stressed that Cuba constitutes an example of an equitable society that protects its children and adolescents, highlighting that Cubans have full schooling; that is, where education and health are free and accessible to all.

Therefore, Cuba celebrates the date because they have many reasons to do so in this bastion of conquered hope and protected childhood.
