Dominican amber

However, amber from the Dominican Republic is mentioned less frequently, a jewel provided by the Dominican nature.

El amber is the product of the vegetable resin of some prehistoric trees such as hymenaea protera. It is a resin that in its conversion process hardened in contact with the environment and over the years it became amber of different shapes and sizes, wrapping inside the remains of small animals such as termites or vegetables that give it a special coloring.

The areas with the greatest presence of Dominican amber are found in the provinces of Santiago and Puerto Plata, specifically in Juan de Nina and Rancho Abrosio on the one hand and Palo Alto, La Toca and Palo Quemado on the other.
