Westminster Abbey

This time we want to talk to you about some of the most important monuments in England, beginning with Westminster Abbey. It is the Collegiate Church of San Pedro, a Gothic church that is located in the city of London and was founded in 960. Since 1066 it has been used as a place for the coronation of British monarchs and in fact many of these Kings, as well as writers, monks, poets and other relevant characters, are buried in this church.

Another of the Important monuments in England is The Bodlelan Library, which is located at the University of Oxford. It is a library that was founded in 1602 and is consequently considered one of the oldest libraries in Europe. It currently contains more than 11 million volumes, plus visitors can take a tour to see different parts of the library.

Besides these monuments of England, you can also visit the Stonehenge, which is in fact one of the most famous and mysterious monuments in the country. It is a prehistoric group of large rocks arranged in circles. Thanks to its characteristics, this state was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. Archaeologists and historians have established the origin of this monument between 3100 to 2300 BC. This monument is open to the public every day of the year with the exception of 24 and 25, tourists have to pay a small admission fee.
