Dionysian festivals

The Greeks made great parties when the harvest began and when it ended, asking and thanking the gods. What Dionysus He was the son of a god and a mortal, he is the divinity of fertility, the grape harvest, vegetation, etc., the god of wine. In the dionysian feasts they traveled through the polis in a car with the image of Dionisios, people followed him, singing, dancing and drinking. They killed a male goat so that its blood would strengthen the earth (goblins), hence the word tragedy and from how it would be the manifestation of the chorus, derives the word comedy. When the choirs sing and others answer, we already have dialogue and it is the dithyramb, here we already find the base of the theater, people who act and people who observe. Before someone, read a story, only the character existed, now the actor represented the character.

Thespis was the first actor, Aeschylus invents the second actor (deuteragonist), Sophocles the third actor (triagonist), Euripides sometimes places a fourth actor. At first the chorus was very important, then it loses it.

It has scenic elements, actors, choir, costumes, sets, contests, theater. The mask that the actors wore became very important, with large dimensions and colors, so that they can be seen from afar. Little by little the mask industry became very important. The coturn ones gave greater height to the character so that the actor was more imposing. The clothes were long or short tunics, or they dressed like the people, pads were put on to highlight the contours and were in accordance with the height and the mask. The decoration was not given importance, later it was also refined.

The acoustics were perfect, both in the front row and in the last row. They built it in the open air, on a hillside to put the stands on the slope, they were arranged in a semicircular shape.

The theatrical genres were, tragedy, comedy, satirical drama. The current theater has been enriched with modern elements such as lighting and other resources, but it still has the same roots.
