A king without a crown, history of the Greek monarchy

Although today Greece is not a parliamentary monarchy as is the case in many European countries, it had a Royal family that suffered several ups and downs, exiles, revolts, Turkish invasions, wars, military coups and proclamations of independence.

Internal struggles and modern political airs determined that over the years the monarchical powers were increasingly limited. In the twentieth century, when the First World WarHe, two factions face each other in Greece (one pro-ally and the other pro-German). King Constantine I wanted to support Germany, but with the help of the allies the other faction occupies Athens and then he must abdicate, to return to the throne a couple of years after the death of his son Alexander.

The terrible war he led against Turkey forced Constantitno to abdicate a second time and the once pro-allied faction placed another of his sons on the throne, George II. By then communism began to be felt in the air and so did the military and politicians who wanted the monarchy to return, but finally in 1924 the Republic was proclaimed, which in turn did not last at all because with the terrible economic situation, the archaic institutions and the political instability that existed, it did not take long for this form of government to be abolished and a fascist dictatorship up to 1941.

In the Second World War the country leans in favor of the Allies (although there were still different positions), it is finally occupied by Germany and the king must go into exile in Egypt. What followed for a period of Civil War with communists and pro-soviets stuck there. And what happens next? After the civil war, King Paul I, father of the current Queen of Spain, appointed a Prime Minister.

His death is succeeded by the brother of the Queen of Spain, Constantine II and he is suffering a military coup and must go into exile with the entire court in Rome. In 1973 the monarchy was abolished and the Republic is proclaimed again, with president and prime minister. Currently the former king of Greece is married to Princess Ana María of Denmark and lives in London, his sister Sofia lives in Spain with her family and the heir to the throne (who will never reach) is the son of Constantine, Pablo de Grecia, a English-educated fellow who has married a billionaire commoner.

Of course, you cannot enter Greece if it is not with a foreign passport. Wow, a monarchy without a region.

Well, I have read a lot on this subject and what I understand is that even above all this the Hellenic people are still faithful to their royal family and that we can realize when the royal family returned again after many years of exile that they were obsessed with. As if they were still or had been replaced on the throne, I also have some Greek friends and from what we have spoken they consive the return of the monarchy

Well, I don't know what you have read, ransay, because in Greece they can't even see them. If you understood Greek and read the Greek press you would see how Constantine is mocked and especially how they detested Federica, a piece of care. I remind you that this and her husband, fervent anti-communists, plunged the country into a civil war after the 2nd World War that left the country devastated and that she strutted with her jewels and Luko yachts before a ruined people, who literally died of hunger during the war, and that he imposed a tax to pay the bodorrio of his daughter Sofia. They also caused the coup that in the end, with good reason, cost him the throne, so ...
Not to mention that they don't have a drop of Greeks, they are German, Danish, and they spoke English between them. it was a foreign monarchy and they did not know how to win over the people ...

Well, I don't know why they don't go to work like normal people…. They stumble there and take pictures with the other European monarchs….
Constantito and Ana Maria were… ..but they are no longer the kings of the Hellenes….
Why is it not clear to them?

I would like to know if there is currently any descendant of the ancient Greek lineages such as paleologists, komnenos, ducas, dragas, or some ancestral family that had branched off from them, I have searched for it on the internet but I only found a legend, which would have me liked to believe it but I think it is highly unlikely.
Byzantium in the Caribbean. In my opinion, the end that the relatives of Tomas paelologo the last emperor of Byzantium had is very sad, his widow unfortunately ended up in the haren of the sultan, but apparently his youngest son was ten, he pretended to have converted to Islam and how he could escape to the kingdom of Georgia and ended up in the court of the Bragation kings. I would like to get rid of doubts. Please.
