For example, the melomakarona. This is one of the typical Greek Christmas sweets and of course, it is super sweet. It has sugar, orange juice, cognac and olive oil, as well as syrup. Would you like to do it at home? Then I write you the recipe:

2 cups of olive oil, 3/4 cup of cognac, 3/4 cup of sugar, 3/4 cup of orange juice, 7 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1 of baking soda. Mix the oil, sugar, juice and cognac. Apart, you sift then add the flour, the bicarbonate and the powder, three times, and add this to the mixture with the olive oil. You make a dough and divide it into balls.

You place the Melomakarona balls on baking paper and cook them for half an hour. Separately mix in a saucepan 2 cups of honey, sugar and water. You boil and make it on the balls. Let them absorb the liquid for 15 minutes, remove them from the sauce and place them in a shallow pan. Sprinkle them with cinnamon and chopped walnuts. The recipe is for 40 melomakarona.
