Greece is a country with many beautiful landscapes and the truth is that among the countries of Europe it is one of the cheapest to go on vacation. It was more so before joining the European community, it is true, but it remains one of the most accessible. But in addition, it is a good filming set for the film industry.
Both mainland Greece and the Greek islands have been used as a film set for many films. Whether these take place in Greece or not, its landscapes are well used. Here is one list of some of the movies filmed in Greece:
