The House of Culture in Stockholm

Opened in 1974, the The Culture House (House of Culture in Swedish) is a cultural center south of Sergels Torg, in the center of Stockholm. It is a controversial symbol as critics find it oversized and aesthetically unpleasant.

It was the temporary seat of the Swedish Parliament (Riksdag) until 1983, while the building was remodeled for the Riksdag, the unicameral Parliament.

Every year, in its outskirts, there are cultural events while inside there are photo exhibitions, children's stories, concerts, literary debates, films, debates and so many other things that a complete list would be too long to read. During the day and at night.

The truth is that it has become the cultural center with interesting events throughout the year. There you will find the World News Café which offers free international newspapers and magazines, the restaurants and cafes are always full of visitors of all ages discussing plays or exhibitions.

Schedule: Open every day.
Direction: Sergels Torg 7
