Paradisiac beaches of Margarita Island

Isla-margarita-beaches

Located on the north coast of Venezuela, the Isla de Margarita, is a small mountainous island that is popular with tourists from South and Central America.

If you want to go on vacation on Margarita Island, you must first travel to Caracas and take a local operator for the island's main airport in Porlamar.

After arrival, the visitor will find dozens of tropical beaches to enjoy sunbathing, swimming and water sports along the island's 106 miles of shoreline.

El Agua Beach

It is the busiest beach on Margarita Island at 2 1/2 miles long. The clear blue water crashes against its white sand all year round. Located on the north coast of Margarita Island, Playa el Agua offers water sports and other activities such as bungee jumping, ultralight plane rides, music concerts and all the comforts.

El Yaque beach

It is located behind the Porlamar airport on the south coast of Margarita Island. The water is calm, but the wind is strong, making it a favorite spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Because Playa el Yaque is not typically a busy beach and the water is shallow, it is an ideal beach for families, especially those with young children.

Parguita Beach

It is a popular surf beach that is located on the north coast of the island near the Barceló Pueblo Caribe (barcelo.com) resort. Popular for its parties and young people, Playa Parguita is dotted with restaurants and beach vendors.

Caribbean beach

Playa Caribe is also located on the north coast of Margarita Island. Like other beaches in the area, it has big waves, so it is not your best option for swimming, especially with young children.

Manzanillo Beach

If you want to be close to the tourist area on the north side of Margarita Island, but prefer to avoid the crowds that are often found in Agua or Parguita, head to Playa Manzanillo.

Although the beach was once used primarily by local fishermen, it has become a popular alternative for tourists seeking peace and quiet. Playa Manzanillo offers limited services, but visitors can find several restaurants on the beach that serve meals caught by local fishermen.
