The Great Ocean Highway

La Great Ocean Highway It is a spectacular route that runs 243 km along the Australian coast between the Victorian cities of Torquay and Warnrnambool. It dates from the early XNUMXth century when it was built to employ returning soldiers from World War I and is also dedicated to those who never returned. It is a great path with incredible views, so if you are thinking of renting a car, this is where you should come, yes or yes.

The route begins in Torquay and travels west towards the outskirts of Warrnambool, and most of the way borders the sea offering great panoramic views of the Bass Strait and the southern ocean. Between the towns of Anglesea and Apollo Bay there is a quite picturesque stretch since there the route is squeezed between the mountains on one side and the sea on the other. It is worth stopping at the beach of Louttit Bay to take photos of the natural amphitheater that the hills form there.

Continuing, we will run into Port Campbell and from there we can rent a helicopter or go on foot to the most beautiful coastline you have seen due to the strange shapes of rocks. These formations owe their shape to the erosion of waves and rain and have already been baptized with names such as London Bridge, Grotto, Loch Ard and the most famous are undoubtedly the Twelve Apostles. Walking, we can always also see waterfalls, forests and rivers.

It is true, there is nothing like a good vacation on the road and the Great Australian Ocean Route offers everything: sea, mountains, towns, natural parks, beaches and even koalas.

Australia is simply wonderful for everything. That tour of the Great Ocean Highway is unforgettable. Hopefully memory can retain such beauty impossible to capture in photos or videos. Landscapes that dazzle ... Unimaginable beauty that the Creator captured there.
