Morro de San Pablo, a paradise south of Salvador.

El Morro de Sao Paulo is the most important town on the Ilha de Tinharé, located south of the Bay of All Saints and 272 km south of the city of Salvador of Bahia. The island is a true tropical paradise, with exuberant vegetation of palm trees and beaches, with one side attached to the mainland and the entire coastline towards the sea lined with reefs where they form natural pools at low tide, ideal for snorkelling.

The small town was built in the seventeenth century on the hill of a fortress for the defense of the place, of which some ruins remain. There also stands an old lighthouse, the Sao Paulo's Morro Lighthouse. Various trails take tourists to the top, from where you can see a panoramic view of all the beaches and the horizon and where at the end of the afternoon you can witness spectacular sunsets.

Vehicular traffic is prohibited in the town and it is only possible to move around the island on calls Planters, which take travelers to the most remote beaches, and to the inns on the different beaches closest to the town and the airport.
