Cancun Beaches

When it comes to taking a trip and thinking of a paradisiacal destination, full of miles of beach and crystal clear sand, we think of the Cancun beaches. It is inevitable, since this city is one of the most important tourist destinations internationally. In just a few years, its change has been quite considerable.

At first there was talk of a fishermen's island that was surrounded by jungle. But little by little it became one of the main places to enjoy its corners. Cancun Island or Hotel Zone

Cancun is located northwest of the Yucatan peninsula. As we have mentioned, it is divided into five well differentiated areas. One of the most important is the so-called Cancun Island or Hotel Zone. This is where its great and beautiful beaches are concentrated, as well as the tourist offer. It is a space of land that has the shape of the number 7 and an extension of 23 kilometers. From the north to the south we are going to find the most varied public beaches.

Cancun Beaches, Las Perlas

One of the main beaches is called The pearls. It is located at kilometer 2.5 and right next to the Hotel that bears the same name. From it we can say that it is the first public beach that we come across and that it is also called one of the best. It is perfect for the whole family, since there is hardly any waves. If you are thinking about where to leave your car, in this area you have a parking lot for about 40 cars. But if you can't find it there, you also have a piece of land that is empty right next to it, and it's always a good option. It has public bathrooms and also an area where you can choose the book you like the most to read during your stay on the beach, totally free. Of course, you will have to return it in the best conditions.

Playa Langosta

In this case, we will find the Langosta Beach at kilometer 5. Just after Las Perlas. It is also a quiet beach with low tides or waters. This is that, even if you walk into the water, you will have several meters before it comes to cover you. So, it is also perfect for the little ones in the family. As it is another of the most visited, parking is not always available. But if you do, you will enjoy more than incredible views.

Tortugas Beach

Because in addition to the crystal clear waters, we can also find other diversions. In this case, we go to Playa Tortugas, which is located at kilometer 6,5. You will be able to meet different craft stalls or restaurants. Although it is not the largest, it does have good parking and public restrooms. It is best to go early in the morning. You will surely enjoy it much more!

Caracol Beach

In this case, we arrive at kilometer 8,5 of the Hotel Zone to find another of the main beaches in Cancun. The call Playa Caracol is a small beach but quite quiet. Although in high season, it also receives many tourists. It is at the foot of the Mocambo restaurant and has parking and a more than spectacular beauty.

Chac Mool Beach

It is kilometer 10 where we find Chac Mool Beach. Although the idea at first was to make a commercial area here, it seems that in the end it was not. This means that we can enjoy a very special beach. Of course, it has a narrow access but of course you can pass without any problem. You have to think that it is a beach where the currents are quite strong. It is considered a good area for some sports.

Marlin Beach

This beach is located at kilometer 13. Although many agree that it is one of the most beautiful beaches, there always has to be a but. In this case, we have to talk about parking again. It seems that in places like this it is quite frequent. Its entrance to the public is just behind the Plaza Kukulcán. We must also pay special attention to the sea as we will find dangerous currents.

Ballenas Beach

At kilometer 14 we find Playa Ballenas. Its access is a little more hidden, since it is located between the hotels and it looks like a private beach, but no. You can follow the sidewalk that goes by the Hotel Meridien and enjoy one of the quietest beaches in the area, in terms of people but of course the sea does not think the same because there will also be certain currents to take into account.

Dolphins Beach

At kilometer 18 we find the Playa Delfines or also called «El mirador». The improvements to this beach make it one of the obligatory points to be visited. You can photograph yourself next to the letters of Cancun, as a welcome. It has lighting and parking lots. Perfect for sunbathing, but with a lot of waves if you want to bathe.
