Alaska and the Anchorage Indians

Proximity to the great outdoors is the most obvious reason to visit anchorage, a city located in the state of Alaska which is just steps away from major hiking spots, ski areas and national parks.

And do not rush out of town. Anchorage is home to many fascinating and family-friendly attractions that in some way showcase Alaska's history, peoples, and cultures.

For example, the visitor can learn all about the indigenous peoples of the past in the Alaskan Native Heritage Center, which is dedicated to the preservation of customs that have been present for more than 500 years.

There are three main parts to this kind of museum: a gallery that exhibits native artifacts, a performance hall, where members of native communities tell stories, dance, and display their athletic abilities, and a grouping of seven traditional dwellings that represent the lifestyles of some of the tribes.

Many visitors agree that the Alaska Native Heritage Center offers an excellent educational experience to meet the ancestors of the region.

This center is located northeast of downtown Anchorage along Glenn Highway and welcomes visitors daily from 09 am to 5 pm between May and September. The center is closed during the winter, except for Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm and during special monthly events. Admission is $ 25 for adults and $ 17 for children.
