Washington DC is the most patriotic city in the United States to celebrate Independence Day. And it is that being the capital of the country of Uncle Sam, every July 4, the city dresses up to celebrate this event with a series of activities where its spectacular fireworks, parades and concerts of all kinds stand out.

In this sense, if you have a trip to the city in mind, the following events must be taken into account:

Parade for Independence Day : it has the participation of music bands from all over the country, military units, floats and patriotic personalities. It's a great start to a full day starting at 11:45 am on Constitución Avenue and NW 7th Street.

Party at the Capitolior: it is a free musical show that lasts 90 minutes. The concert features the participation of the National Symphony Orchestra which is crowned with a moving performance of Tchaikovsky's "Overture 1812" followed by live cannon fire provided by the US Army Battery. Doors open at 3 pm, and the concert begins at 8 pm.

Fireworks at the National Mall - Often called the National Esplanade, it is a landscaped national park surrounded by Smithsonian museums, national monuments ranging from the Washington Monument to the Capitol. In fact, there people gather to enjoy the fireworks that start shortly after 21:00 pm.

Concerts at the Washington National Cathedral : Starting at 11 am the US Navy band performs a series of free concerts during the month of July. Added to this is the staging of a global bazaar with music, dances, crafts and demonstrations of different cultures.

Events in the National Archivenal: being the headquarters where the original Declaration of Independence is kept, it organizes a series of activities for the whole family where the celebration begins at 10 am with a ceremony, including the reading of the Declaration of Independence. From 11 am to 2:00 pm, family activities are on the agenda, including appearances by Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and other historical figures.
