Called Somiedo lakes They are in the Natural Park that bears the same name. We will find it in Asturias and it has about 29.122 hectares. The truth is that this nature reserve allows us to enjoy nature first-hand and as such, do different hiking routes.

How to get to the Somiedo Lakes
In the Somiedo Lakes area we can get to the campsite. What allows us to move by car. If we go from the part of Oviedo we must take the highway that goes to Grado, La Espina and for this, we will go along the A-227 until we reach the Somiedo Pola. Although you can also get out in Trubia.
From here you will continue towards Teverga and you will continue through the Puerto de San Lorenzo until you reach Somiedo. If you come from the central part of Spain, then you can take the AP-66, Villablino exit, until you reach Piedrafita de Babia. Then, you will have to continue to Puerto de Somiedo. When we are in Pola de Somiedo, we will have to continue about eight kilometers along a regional road. This will be the one that takes us to a town called Valle del Lago.
Routes through the Somiedo Lakes
There are several routes that we can enjoy in this environment. One of the most famous and well-known is the so-called route of the Lake Valley. To start it, you can start from the campsite in the area itself. There is a path on the right that you can see perfectly. The lake area is the most beautiful. It is wide and has a kind of island in the central part. It is said that the meeting point of fishermen to be able to take home a large trout.
If you go around the lake, you will see a small refuge. There, right next to him, there is another ascending path to start up the mountain. You will leave the lake behind you and the new views still impress a little more than the previous ones. The next destination will be to spot a new lake. Another of the biggest is the Calabazosa Lake. It has an access of about two kilometers, approximately.
Again, when skirting it, we will see two other lakes. In this case we will be before the Laguna de la Cueva and Lake Cerveriz. After the latter, the plain makes its appearance and there we can enjoy the typical fauna of this space as well as its nature in a very characteristic green color. As this route has a circular shape, we will be almost back to our starting point. It is a simple route, although it must be said that it has about 20 kilometers. So it is always necessary to stop and enjoy the views, whenever we can.
In addition to this walk, you will also find routes such as the call 'Route of Cornon'. That it is one of the highest peaks in Somiedo. On the other hand there is a route of gentle ascent through meadows and where you can discover the so-called 'Cabañas de Teito'. This route is named after 'Mumian braña route'. The 'Castro Route' It is a linear route, about 4 kilometers long and that takes us through the recreational area of 'La Malva' and 'Castro'. The 'La Peral Route', is another of the most emblematic. Part of El Peral which is a typical town and which is a route of about 13 kilometers.
Where to sleep and rest
As we are talking about routes with many kilometers in between, it is not enough to think where we can sleep or rest. Well, since we are in the middle of nature, we will take advantage of this medium. That is why the Lake Somiedo area, They have a campsite that has more than 200 places. Of course, they are not delimited so that everyone can camp at ease. It does have an area for caravans, which have light sockets. The price per night for an adult is about 5 euros plus VAT. Children, up to 10 years, 5 euros. A collective store is 7 euros, while the individual one is 6 euros. The motorhome is 10 euros and the car 5. As we have already mentioned, they are prices without VAT.
On the other hand, you also have some teito cabins. A typical construction that has been renovated with all the comforts so that you can spend a few nights of the most rural. There are 6 equipped cabins, for 2, 4 or 6 people. The price for two people and without VAT, is around 80 euros.
Activities to practice in the Somiedo Lakes
Besides hiking, another of the activities that you can practice is climbing. There is a school that can teach you everything you need to get started in this sport.
