Regarding the classical Indian musicThis dates back thousands of years before and can even be found in ancient writings, belonging to the Hindu, Vedic and Samaveda traditions. The classical music of India, has its origin in a tool used in order to obtain the self-realization of the individual. All the different forms of melodies, also known as ragas, affect in a particular way the different chakras, located on the Kundalini path. So this music has a particular relevance, since there are mental, biological and spiritual effects that are associated with the stimulation of these chakras.
It is clear then, the great importance that music has within, both the Indian and the Hindu tradition.
