Degenerations of the wise Indian gurus, they are the so-called "little witches" that swarm everywhere, offering a totally fictitious vision of a future unknown to them. The thing is there will always be the need for relaxation, concentration, spirituality and meditation; internal needs for anyone in society, exposed to stress and life's disagreements, and that are taken advantage of by the ever-present scammers, be they the aforementioned "little witches" or any chubby shaman. For a need there is a solution and several scams.
The term comes from time immemorial, from so long ago that even Buddha, founder and base of one of the two religions with the most faithful in the world (Buddhism), was not the first to be called that. The guru is regarded as a sage in spiritual matters, a reliable advisor in matters of the soul, what really matters in Buddhism, the religion on whose precepts it is based.
Finding the right guru is often the reason for the trip to The Beatles, who "found" their guru, Mahashiri, Mahesh Yogi, to get away from drugs and achieve a spiritual level that allows them to evolve as musicians and people. The result was optimal, and they returned to England to record their best music, which made history. Better publicity - not dear, by the way - for the gurus than that given by those of Liverpool?
That India is related to gurus, does not mean that they will be found in every corner -It would be similar to think that in Peru there are more auquénidos than dogs-, all eccentric Hindus and men with long hair are not gurus, and neither are all venerable men. And is that guru literally means "spiritual master", so it will be appropriate to look for them in Buddhist temples dedicated to meditation.
The text can be used to launch some first reaches of the principles of the gurus, who seek to move away from the "darkness" to their disciples, denying them the importance of the physical body and the pleasures, also show them the internal "divine light", breaking the ego of the disciple as an important beginning.
All those who cement the Buddhist belief, the contemporary sages and their figures of veneration, are by rule important gurus who left an important legacy of dispossession of material goods and carnal desires. The guru will transform the living being into an entity that will live for the consummation of its spirituality.
