India's love bracelet

There is a beautiful and traditional Indian custom of giving a bracelet called rakhi It is made in its simplest form with red cotton thread but that over time has been transformed by adding other types of materials such as gold threads or semi-precious stones.

rakhi

The purpose of giving the rakhi is to demonstrate the brotherly affection felt for the person to whom it is given. and the belief is that whoever receives it will have protection for one year. It's kind of like a pact between brothers. It is customary to give a simple present back in gratitude for receiving this significant jewel.

In August there is a special day for this celebration, also known by the name of Raksha banhan, a very important festival for Hindu society. In this date India exposes the best of his creativity in the multiple designs of these bracelets that are exhibited in small stalls along its main streets. Although you can find this bracelet at any time of the year, for example in the bazaars of Thekkady.

It is worth highlighting the message that this day has, since it enhances the sentimental and family ties of the inhabitants of this nation.

Recently a friend from India that I met in an online game sent me an email referring to this bracelet and the custom they have there regarding the Raksha Band. He gave me a brief introduction to this ceremony and asked me to be his older sister. I felt honored and wanted to have answered him but on the other hand I did not want to offend him with my ignorance on the subject tema
However, it is a very very beautiful custom and I would like us to adopt it here because we are not always to fraternize.
    Lolitos kisses ♥
