Campeche, festivals and traditions

The festivals and traditions are also an important tourist attraction in the city. Among some of those that are held throughout the year, for example, La Feria de San Ramón, which is held on September 14 or the San Francisco Fair on October 4, can be highlighted.

Carnival is also celebrated, a festival in which various events are held such as the parade of bad humor or the parade of flowers and the costume contests and allegorical cars or the coronations that take place in the Civic Center known as concha acoustics.

During Holy Week the events of the date are celebrated, processions, masses, prayers or Stations of the Cross from Palm Sunday to Easter. In addition, on May 1, the feast of the Lord of the Great Power is celebrated through novena that have been celebrated since ancient times.

There is also music with the festival called Polk keken, which today has been transformed into a verbena-type festival and the Jazz Festival organized by the Autonomous University of Campeche that is held in the month of May in the main park.
