Perhaps not everyone knows how to locate them. They belong to the continent of Oceania, south of the Pacific Ocean. To put ourselves a little better, it must be said that they are in the east of Australia. There we can see a group of islands, with a total of more than 300. Although 100 of them are no longer populated. The capital of these islands is Suva and together with Vanua Levu and Viti Levu they are the most important points. Because it is the largest and most developed islands. In them you can also enjoy intense forests and mountains.

The two mentioned are also followed by Taveuni as well as Kadavu since they are also main when talking about their size and their population. All these points they have great mineral and fishing resources, although some inhabitants continue to dedicate themselves to agriculture.

How to travel to the Fiji Islands

The main means of entry and exit from the islands is the international airport. This one is located in the city of Nadi. Just 10 minutes away will be the center of it and in it, you will find numerous hotels and hostels. You can also book your hotel from the airport itself, without this altering the final price.

So as you can see, the only entrance as well as exit is the airport. Once you hit the mainland, you can go by boat to the other islands. But yes, it is where you will spend the most money (approximately 40 euros to go from one island to another). So, it is advisable to buy the Bull Pass. With it you will have the option of going from island to island, especially when we are going to move a lot and for more than a week. You can buy this option both at the airport, in the port of Denarau or even online.

This will change if your trip has other purposes such as work or studies. When you are inside an island and you want to travel it from one side to another, you can use the buses. For example, between Suva and Nadi, which is a journey of about four hours, it costs approximately 5 euros.

Now that we have located ourselves and we already know how to get there and move around the islands, it is worth knowing what we can see or what the leisure plans are. First, we can enjoy Nadi, more than anything because very close to there we have the airport, so it is a mandatory stop. If you want to go shopping and enjoy some more than suitable restaurants, then you can go to Suva. In Viti Levu, one of the main islands, we can enjoy the coral coast.

Nadi City Fiji

It is located in the southwest part and there sports will be the ones that occupy your time. Above all, water sports. From Viti Levu, by boat and just one hour, we find the Mamanucas Islands. One of the key points to spend a few nights full of revelry. The Yasawa Islands they are the opposite. It is a fairly quiet area, since tourists do not always come to them.

Here you can relax and enjoy the views and the atmosphere, because it is well deserved. It must be said that they are volcanic islands where we will also meet hotels and resorts to choose the one that suits us best. Many people choose to go to an island and from there, hire different excursions to neighboring islands. Above all, when you go a few days, you can buy the boat ticket, but if you go for more than a week, then the advisable thing is the Bula Pass card that we mentioned before. So you see, both water sports and leisure and parties are the order of the day in this place.

Many thanks for the blog! In May I will go to Fiji for almost 2 weeks, I would like to ask you some questions, since you have already lived the experience. We want to visit many islands since we are going to be there for a long time and we want to take advantage of the experience, our tourism would be mainly beaches, excursions, water sports, etc ... (no partying and "leisure") ) that you would recommend me how to organize it, since we are quite lost. We will arrive in Nadi, but we do not know whether to book all the hotels and stays from Spain or once in Fiji to book it there, on the islands themselves or from the airport. On the other hand, do you recommend staying in Nadi or Suva and from there book excursions to the islands as well? Or on the contrary, spend a day in Nadi and another in Suva and the rest go to another island and book the excursions from the latter?
As you can see we are a little lost haha sorry for that ... but I would greatly appreciate a small itinerary (according to your experience) of what to do and how to do it.
    Thanks for your time
    all the best
