The Wayfarer of Vitoria

El walker from Vitoria is a bronze sculpture about 3 and a half meters high It represents the figure of a very thin and tall man who walks to the city and who likes Vitoria, its environment and its people so much that he decides to stay there.

It's a emblematic monument of Vitoria-Gasteiz It was created in 1985 by the artist Juan José Eguizábal and is located in the Plaza del Arca in the heart of the city. The work was initially made of fiberglass and polyester but in 1989 it became bronze to withstand the passing of the years and avoid having to restore it from time to time.

It is a monument that children find very funny since he looks a lot like a very tall person and the appearance he has is that of a young and modern boy. Most of the people who tour the city stop by to take a couple of photos with this sculpture.
